PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks emerged from the All-Star break the same way they went into it -- with a loss.Patrick Corbin lasted only four innings and the Los Angeles Dodgers pounded Arizona pitching for a season-high 18 hits in their 13-7 victory Friday night. The Diamondbacks lost their fifth straight and 13th in the last 15 games.Chris Taylor, acquired by Los Angeles in a trade with Seattle a month ago, fell a single shy of the cycle, and Bud Norris finally beat Arizona.Taylor, a utility infielder recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on June 25, tripled in the fourth, doubled in the fifth and hit a grand slam in the sixth, his first career home run. He was thrown out on a bunt in the eighth.Norris (5-7) entered 0-7 with a 13.92 ERA against the Diamondbacks but ended the drought with the help of the Dodgers offensive outburst. The right-hander went five innings, allowing five runs, four earned, and eight hits. Its a tough place to pitch, he said. I personally have struggled here a few times, so I just wanted to go as deep as I could, kind of just leave all my pitches out there.Corbin (4-8) gave up seven runs, six earned, and seven hits. He struck out seven but walked three. It is just frustrating, he said. It is not the way I liked it to turn out. I just have to move past it and get better.Corbin said his biggest problem is not getting ahead of hitters like I have in the past.It is leading to walks and hitters counts, he said. It is something I need to get better on.The Diamondbacks took a 3-2 lead with three runs in the third, two on Michael Bourns triple, but as has been the case so often this season, gave it up in the very next inning. It is very tough mentally, Arizona manager Chip Hale said. It is one of the things we talked about over the break and talked to the players about today and yesterday. I thought we did a nice job of continuing to play. Our guys battled. The Dodgers scored five in the fourth, with two scoring on Taylors triple. Yasiel Puig singled in two more before being thrown out trying to stretch it into a double.Los Angeles loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth. Silvino Bracho struck out the next two, but Taylor hit one into the seats beyond left field and the Dodgers led 12-4.In the eighth, needing only a single, Taylor chose to lay down a bunt and was thrown out by the pitcher.I thought it was a good time, the situation, he said. They had the third baseman back and its always been a part of my game, regardless of the hits (I had). I think you put me in that situation again Im still going to try it. Its something I take pride in.Third baseman Jake Lambs two errors in the third led to an unearned Los Angeles run.The Diamondbacks fell to 15-33 at home.KERSHAW CLOSERDodgers ace Clayton Kershaw is inching closer to a return.Kershaw, sidelined since June 27 with a mild disk herniation, will throw a simulated game in Los Angeles on Saturday. Manager Dave Roberts said Kershaw will throw 60 pitches. Before he was hurt, Kershaw, as usual, was one of the games best pitchers, going 11-2 with a 1.79 ERA.TRAINERS ROOMDodgers: Roberts said a bone scan Friday of OF Andre Ethiers right tibia showed the fracture has not completely healed but its healed enough that Andre, to his tolerance, can continue to progress with baseball activity. Roberts said the Dodgers will ramp him up and see where it takes us. ... LHP Alex Wood (posterior elbow) will pitch in the same simulated game as Kershaw.Diamondbacks: RHP Zack Greinke (strained oblique) played catch Thursday night, the first time hes done so since the injury.UP NEXTDodgers: RHP Brandon McCarthy (2-0, 2.70 ERA) makes his third start since coming back from Tommy John surgery, facing his former team for the first time.Diamondbacks: RHP Archie Bradley (3-5, 4.64), coming off a strong but losing effort against San Francisco, makes the start for Arizona in the second game of the three-game series. Since being recalled from Triple-A Reno on May 29, Bradley ranks fourth in the NL in strikeouts. It was a decision that could have changed the FFA Cup final and Sydney FC skipper Alex Brosque doubts whether referees had the nerve to award the Sky Blues a crucial late free-kick.Citys 1-0 Cup triumph ended in controversy at AAMI Park on Wednesday night when Brosque, one on one with Melbourne City defender Osama Malik, went to ground just outside the penalty box in the 92nd minute.Much to the anger of Sydney players, referee Peter Green waved away shouts for a free-kick and a chance to restore parity following Tim Cahills earlier header. After watching replays, Brosque was certain hed been fouled and wondered how a team of officials, including two additional assistant referees, could have let such a big match moment go.Its surprising really. They introduced another referee to be able to see things like that and neither of them saw it, Brosque said.Im not complaining about it too much. It was sort of desperation at the end there and we would have liked to have done a bit better throughout the game to not be worrying on a 92nd-minute decision. But six referees, no one really had the guts to make a call and, in the end, we lost to a good Tim Cahill goal - he did what he always seems to do.Brosque disagreed with Greens explanation he didnt award a foul because both he and Malik had been holding onto each other, arguing that might have been the casse initially but, once through on goal, the City defender was all over me.ddddddddddddHe said he didnt know who to give the decision to, Brosque said.Thats what I pointed out - surely going through one on one with the keeper, theres no reason for me to continue holding. If we were both holding each other, once the attacking player is through on goal, if theres still contact, then he goes down - its a foul.Brosques opinion was backed by former Central Coast coach and Fox Sports pundit Phil Moss, who couldnt fathom how Peter Green missed it.For me, its 100 per cent a foul, 100 per cent red card and a chance for Sydney to get back in the game and send it into extra-time, Moss said.If you look at Osama Malik, hes got a handful of Brosque.Brosque is playing it smart as all good strikers do. They get across the line of a defender to ensure they either have to let them go or foul them.Sydney were dejected to leave Melbourne without the trophy theyd craved for six years, but intended to reignite their A-League title push on Sunday against Newcastle.Today, the boys are in better spirits, he said.We know we go up to Newcastle, we get a good win there, continue our form in the league and it gets forgotten about pretty quickly.
